The Maigrot hall is INSEP’s iconic infrastructure, built in the 60s and inaugurated in 1965 by General de Gaulle. It was the first athletics hall on this scale, with an unrivalled ceiling height and a fully refurbished copper roof.
Sports
It is regularly used by the French national team to prepare for international competitions. Another three courts are expected to be created very soon.
Sport
Renovated in 2011, this complex now has new changing rooms, a weight training room and a sport shooting room in the basement. In addition, the badminton arena and two basketball arenas have been refurbished. The plastic flooring allows the badminton arena to occasionally host handball events, while the basketball arenas can also be used for volleyball.

Volleyball
Four “green set” courts were available to the French tennis section, before it relocated to the CREPS de Poitiers (boys) and the Centre national d’entrainement (girls) in 2017. Today, these courts are used by wheelchair tennis players. One of the courts has also been converted into a 3x3 basketball court.
The shooting range has two 50m ranges. The structure is fitted with external timber cladding, like the Oriola complex, to ensure the site’s overall harmonisation.
Sport
Inaugurated in 2013 by French Minister of Sport Valérie Fourneyron, the centre has 25 targets at a range of 90m, 70m, 50m and 30m, with the possibility to shoot from inside or outside. An 18m indoor range has also been created, along with various communal areas (changing rooms, physiotherapy room, weight training space, armoury and repairs room).

As part of work to rearrange INSEP’s outdoor spaces, two new throwing areas and a covered warm-up platform were built in 2019 next to the Centre Jean Letessier site.

All the training spaces have been refurbished and hydro-recovery spaces, weight training rooms, a physiotherapy / medical space and new changing rooms have been built to improve the working conditions for athletes and their coaches.

Inaugurated in 2018, this pitch is heated and is aligned with the standards of the best international football pitches. Used by France’s women’s football section, as well as occasionally by French and foreign rugby teams, it limits injury risks, optimises cushioning and reduces fatigue thanks in particular to its high-tech hybrid grass, which is the same surface as that used in France’s national stadium, the Stade de France.

The objective of this venue, grouping together the French NOC's high-performance hub and the French PSC's headquarters, is to optimise support for the federations for Olympic and Paralympic events by formalising proposals for elite sport.
The French PSC has been based out of INSEP since September 2017. This marks a new stage in its development, with increased resources and a stronger team focused on one goal: serving the Paralympic movement and its athletes.
Since September 2019, INSEP’s athletes and staff have been able to benefit from a greater variety of dishes, whose cooking methods, seasoning and side dishes have been rethought: grilled fish, carvery, Asian dishes, various pasta dishes…New recipes have been introduced, tailored to athletes’ needs, during training and competition periods.
The Medical division provides INSEP’s elite athletes with consultation services covering a dozen specialties thanks to the presence of a wide range of specialists: orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, gynaecologists, cardiologists, radiologists, endocrinologists, psychiatrists, paediatricians, emergency doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists and podiatrists. To monitor elite athletes and ensure their good health, this unit works with several interdependent structures :

INSEP’s image library, created in 1996, is the only structure in France specialised in the conservation and promotion of images relating to sport and physical activity. It includes more than 70,000 photographic documents, which represent a truly exceptional resource, drawn from the archives of École de Joinville, Institut National des Sports, Institut National des Sports et de l’Éducation Physique and Institut National du sport de l’Expertise et de la Performance. Today, this database provides unique insights into the history of these civil and military organisations and more generally the history of sport and physical education in France.
A scientific, cultural and professional public institution (EPSCP), INSEP offers personalised support for elite athletes with their school and university training.
Under an agreement with Académie de Créteil, INSEP provides on-site learning for pupils from their 3rd year to their final year (professional baccalaureate in business and BTS diploma in commercial unit management). The timeslots for classes (07:45-10:45 and 14:15-16:15, supervised homework sessions on Wednesdays, study sessions in the evenings) are kept free, consulting with the hub leaders.
The Digital Development and Innovation Unit is focused on developing new technological tools for learning and performance, including the administration of the daily athlete monitoring portal (PSQS), a shared training platform connected to the PSQS and Canal-Sport, the development of new algorithms to detect abnormal biological values for individual longitudinal monitoring, working with the research teams from INSEP and Université de Paris...
The Sport, Expertise and Performance (SEP) laboratory and the Institute of Biomedical and Epidemiological Research in Sport (IRMES) work closely with INSEP’s French national sections and the French teams. They provide scientific performance support in line with the needs of the Olympic and Paralympic federations.
INSEP offers a range of on-site professional courses for careers in sport. These courses enable elite athletes to gain the skills needed for their integration into the professional sports sector at various levels. INSEP, a scientific, cultural and professional public institution (EPSCP), also awards postgraduate professional qualifications: Executive Master’s (EM) programmes and specific certificates (CCS) in fields that correspond to the missions of senior sports management staff.
The synthetic football pitch is used by France’s women’s football section.
Sport
The “Alain Danet” field hockey pitch was inaugurated in August 2009. Used by the French national section from 2009 to 2018, it was previously the pitch for the national training centre for France’s senior and under 21 teams. Today, it is used on an ad hoc basis by other sports sections and for events.
One of INSEP’s key facilities, the stadium is used by many French national sections. On a daily basis, it is used for warm-ups, training, performance tests and recovery exercises. It is also regularly used for photo shoots.

Inaugurated in 2010 by Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, this 12,476 sq.m complex covers five disciplines and includes hydro-recovery, weight training and performance support spaces.
Sports
Inaugurated in 1984 by French President François Mitterrand, this complex has been extensively renovated as part of INSEP’s modernisation programme. Since 2015, the judo training area has doubled in size (1,586 sq.m), the top floor has been made more versatile for team sports, and a hydro-recovery space has been created.
